Welcome to the Morning Star Nursery Staff Induction Programme. This course is the first step in your journey with us. It is designed to equip you with the essential knowledge, confidence, and practical skills required to provide the highest standard of care and education to our children.

This training ensures that all staff members are fully compliant with the EYFS Statutory Framework, Ofsted requirements, and Health & Safety legislation.

Section 1: Professional Standards & Values Understand our core values, British Values, Equality & Diversity, and the code of professional conduct expected from every team member.

Section 2: Safeguarding & Child Protection (Critical) Learn how to identify abuse, report concerns, handle whistleblowing, and follow emergency procedures for missing or uncollected children.

Section 3: Health, Safety & Hygiene Master the protocols for risk assessments, fire safety drills, accident reporting, infection control, and first aid procedures.

Section 4: Care Routines & Wellbeing Detailed guidance on intimate care (nappy changing/toileting), safe sleep procedures for babies, and positive behaviour management strategies.

Section 5: Food Safety & Nutrition Learn about food hygiene, allergen safety (Natasha’s Law), healthy eating guidelines, and our strict nut-free policy.

Section 6: Curriculum & Partnership Explore the EYFS framework, how to observe and assess children’s learning, supporting SEND (Special Educational Needs), and building strong partnerships with parents.
